Boro photographer Tom Banks has been named a finalist in the 2024 World Sports Photography Awards.
The club photographer's snap of Chuba Akpom, taken in 2023, is one of 25 shortlisted from around the world in the football category.
His picture depicts Akpom celebrating a goal against Reading at the Riverside Stadium - the 20th of the striker's stellar 2022/23 campaign, and one which saw him become the first to reach the milestone since Bernie Slaven in 1989/90. His celebration mirrors Slaven's iconic salute on the old Holgate terracing at Ayresome Park, and one youngster is being hoisted into the air to join in the jubilant scenes.
It's a second nomination in as many years for Tom, who is a pitchside staple at Boro games home and away. He said: "It's a pleasure and a privilege to cover the Boro games, and I'm honoured to be a finalist again amongst some outstanding entries.
"I'm glad this one in particular has been picked as it's my favourite from a very memorable season."
The winner is set to be named in the coming weeks.
