Boro Women breezed through in the League Cup after thumping Premier Division North side Stourbridge 4-1 in the midlands.
Michael Mulhern named three changes to the side that beat Leeds in dramatic fashion last week, with Sharna Wilkinson, Emma Foster and Laura Wareham replacing Sarah Burn, Grace Boyes and Ruby Cook.
Despite facing higher-tier opposition Boro dominated the early exchanges in terms of possesion and patiently pried open the home side with short passing.
Boro's possesion led to a nice, slick goal 16 minutes in as Ellen Packham found Wilkinson in midfield with space to turn she then played Jess Mett through on goal before she coolly finished the move off, nutmegging the 'keeper in the process.
Possesion-wise, Boro remained on top after the goal and could have doubled their twice through Armani Maxwell as she found herself at the back-post on two occasions. The first a tame effort that was easy work for the 'keeper, the second a cross goal shot that forced the 'keeper to work harder, tipping wide of the post.
The hosts did manage to get back into the game through set-plays, causing chaos in the box by throwing bodies all over the 18-yard area. Boro managed to scramble clear but only for another Stourbridge corner to hit the back of the net, beating Wareham down to her left.
Stourbridge's leveller came late in the first half but that didn't stop Boro from taking the lead once more in the opening period, just five minutes later through Lauren Robson as Turnbull used her pace down the wing before squaring to Robson to calmly slot first time into the bottom corner to put Boro ahead into the break.
The second half started quickly with Robson smashing against the post from a ranged shot, the subsequent effort from Mett was blocked and out for a Boro corner.
Robson would turn provider this time, delivering another top-class ball into the box. In the mix of Boro bodies, the ball fell to Abby Towers, whose powerful finish beat the 'keeper for the third.
With a two-goal cushion, Michael Mulhern began to make changes to his side. The first saw Keira Skelton introduced in exchange for Maxwell just after the hour mark.
For the second game running, Skelton made an instant impact, cutting in from wide to play a pullback into Robson's path, who cannoned the ball into the roof of the net for Boro's fourth of the game.
Boro's possesion play continued into the late stages of the game as Mulhern's side looked to see the game out and take home the win, but not before changes were made.
Faye Dale, Fran Ward, Beth Guy and Jane Harland were all introduced into the game, with Abby Towers, Turnbull, Millie Bell and Foster all making way.
Stourbridge didn't have their first sniff on goal until just five minutes were left on the clock, with Wareham getting down to her right to quickly smother the ball.
Minutes later, the final whistle was blown, confirming Boro's place in the League Cup First Round which will see a home tie against Leeds United.
