The curtain came down on the PL2 season for Boro U21s on Friday with a 2-1 win against West Brom at Bishop Auckland.

There were opportunities galore in the first half - Cain Sykes, Law McCabe and Hazeem Bakre all went close for Boro while the visitors also had their moments.

It was Bakre who broke the deadlock nine minutes into the second half. George McCormick went close to doubling the advantage with Boro firmly in control before Rio Patterson-Powell bagged a second goal six minutes from time.

West Brom pulled one back late on, but Boro signed off with a victory.

The next outing for our U21s is at the Riverside on 1 May for the North Riding Senior Cup Final against Scarborough Athletic.
