Boro Women got back to winning ways, doing the double over the Terriers.
Michael Mulhern made three changes to his lineup bringing in Armani Maxwell, Georgia Gibson and Keira Skelton for Ellen Turnbull, Becky Ferguson and Kacie Elson.
The conditions at the Stafflex Arena certainly impacted play in the first half, with the home side winning the coin toss, Boro were forced to play against the wind for the opening 45 minutes.
Despite this, the Boro defence rose to the occasion and worked tirelessly to defend their area and win their individual battles, epitomised by Abby Towers' crunching tackle on her opposite number.
Boro did look dangerous on the break as Armani Maxwell played a slotted pass into Georgia Gibson who drew back to fire a shot, but the ball was tapped away before she could connect.
Laura Wareham was called into action just after 20 minutes, making a big save - rushing out to meet the attacker and save her low shot to keep the teams level.
The hosts came close once again, hitting the crossbar from a corner before Millie Bell smashed the ball clear of the Boro goal.
Michael Mulhern's side finished the half the stronger of the two teams, as Gibson had two big chances.
The first came through some good wide play with Giles and Maxwell before Gibson fired a shot from range that looked to be going well over the bar but the wind took a hold of it and looped it back on target forcing the 'keeper to claim it.
Right before half-time Gibson had another big chance, as Mett was played in on goal she out-muscled the defender and played a square ball into Gibson who fired over the bar, sending the teams into the break level.
The second half, Boro started much better, gaining a real foothold in the game playing some slick passes out wide before Bell fired a shot on goal that was tipped wide by the 'keeper.
Mett went incredibly close herself as she drove at the defence and attempted to curl a shot into the top corner but it went narrowly wide.
The good start meant the only bit of defending Boro had to do was from a deep free-kick lumped into the box that Grace Boyes smashed away from goal.
Aggressive in her press, Maxwell won the ball high up and raced forward, firing a shot across the goal that was saved by the fingertips of the Terriers 'keeper.
Millie Bell was getting stuck in, helping Boro win back possesion but was booked after the referee saw something too harsh.
Michael Mulhern made his first change, bringing on Becky Ferguson for Jess Mett.
Ferguson almost made an instant impact when she came on firing a stinging shot on goal, only stopped by a great cross.
The corners following led to Boro's goal, as Maxwell curled in from the corner the ball flew into the back of the net giving Boro the lead and Maxwell her goal, once again against the Terriers who she opened her account against earlier on in the season.
Wareham made another huge save as the hosts looked to pile on the pressure rushing out and getting enough on the ball to stray it wide.
As time wore on Michael Mulhern made more changes, bringing on Emma Foster and Sharna Wilkson to see out the final minutes of the game.
The hosts peppered the Boro box with long balls but the Teessiders held firm and saw out the lead, being well deserved of the three points, moving level on points with Cheadle in top spot.
