Participants of MFC Foundations Premier League Kicks Programme were invited to a Boro Women Q&A session last week, hosted by Specsavers.

The event took place at Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists in Middlesbrough, where a group of young female footballers who are all enrolled in the MFC Foundation's Premier League Kicks Programme were invited to put questions to four Boro Women stars.

Becky Ferguson, Kacie Elson, Sharna Wilkinson and captain Grace Boyes answered the youngster's questions and shared their advice and experiences from football so far, hoping to inspire the next generation of women's footballers.

The participants of the Premier League Kicks programme were also given merchandise and had it signed by the four Boro Women players as well as complimentary tickets to their match against Stockport where they saw the lasses' emphatic 4-0 win.

Boro's own Kacie Elson was also invited to take an eye test on the afternoon and pick out a pair of glasses.

Paul Murphy, Fundraising & Events manager at the MFC Foundation said: "A group of participants from our Premier League Kicks programme were invited to Specsavers, Middlesbrough for a Q & A session with a number of the Middlesbrough FC Women's team."

"Several of the participants regularly attend sessions at our Kings Academy Premier League Kicks site with the sessions using the power of football to engage young people who may otherwise be difficult to reach in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the community alongside attending our holiday courses."
