Michael Carrick is expecting a tough game against Luton Town this weekend.

Boro are aiming to make it back-to-back wins after Saturday’s 2-1 victory against QPR.

Here are some of the key points made by head coach Carrick in his pre-match press conference…

ON LUTON TOWN

It is difficult to be surprised by anything in this league. Whatever they have gone through it is always a tough place to go and they make it difficult. The challenge that is ahead of us is always tough, so we are going down there expecting a really tough game. We believe we are doing some good things at the moment. We have three wins out of four and have got to carry that on and try to keep that run going.

ON PLAYING OUT OF POSITION

I think a lot of it comes down to your mentality and your approach to it. Sometimes you can be put off by it, but I think you can go the other way like the boys have and be really committed to it and almost enjoy that new challenge. Sometimes there might be the odd mistake, but that’s natural and the boys have given it everything they have got and it’s great to see.

ON NETO BORGES

He has done fantastic. Neto has played a lot of football through the season and come out the team for a couple of games but has come back looking really fresh and strong. He has a fantastic mentality and attitude to the game, I think you can see that with how much it means to him. Neto is growing all the time and takes that responsibility on a lot in standing up to the challenge.

ON ANFERNEE DIJKSTEEL

Every player in the squad is important and everyone has their time to be ready and keep the right attitude whenever that chance comes. He has scored two identical goals, which is quite strange in itself to be exactly the same. He is a good defender, but he can create things going forward for us as well. He always wants to learn and listen, and he has a good season but there is obviously a lot more for us to play for and a lot more to focus on.
