Bio
Alex was born in Mokomre, Sierra Leone, in July 1999 and started his career in the Netherlands with DRL before joining Feyenoord at youth level.
He played for the Dutch club from U18 to U21 level before joining SC Cambuur on a permanent basis, where he went on to captain the side.
Alex was a promotion winner with Cambuur and racked up over 100 appearances between 2018 and 2023.
He became Boro's 12th and final signing of the summer transfer window, penning a four-year deal on Teesside.
Alex is a five-time capped international for Sierra Leone.
In his first season at the club Alex played 14 times for Michael Carrick’s side where he made his debut against Blackburn Rovers.
His first goal for the club came in a 4-0 win at home to Preston. Despite a promising start to life at Boro Alex missed part of the season after picking up an injury against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
The 24-year-old returned at the end of the season where he would grab his second goal of the season against Watford.
