Bio

Luke hails from Syston in Leicestershire.

He joined Leicester City’s academy as a seven-year-old in 2008.

A prominent figure within Leicester’s development squads, Luke was called up for England at U18 and U19 level.

He made his professional debut for Leicester when he replaced Ben Chilwell in a 2–0 Premier League win against Sheffield United in July 2020.

He won his first England U20 cap in October 2020 and two weeks later he made his European debut for Leicester in the UEFA Europa League during a 2–1 win over AEK Athens.

He scored his first Leicester goal in the same competition – against Braga – and scored his first Premier League goal in May 2021 when Leicester won 2-1 at Manchester United.

He has made 85 appearances for Leicester, 56 coming in the Premier League.

Luke was an FA Cup winner with the Foxes, starting at left wing-back and playing 82 minutes in the 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley. He came off the bench at the same venue a few months later as Leicester beat Manchester City in the Community Shield.

He has played 15 times for England U21s and was part of the squad that won the European Championship in 2023, starting games against Germany and Israel.

Luke joined Sheffield United on loan during the summer and he made 12 Premier League appearances for the Blades.

Cutting short his season-long loan at Bramall Lane in January, the 22-year-old has joined Boro for the rest of the current campaign.
